Songwriting is either really hard or really easy for me, and there is not much of an in-between. And most of the time, I will get woken up in the middle of the night by a phrase, or a chorus, and if I don’t get it written down RIGHT THEN, then the song fragment will be gone by the morning.

Luckily, March 27th I forced myself to write down “colors of argent and azure and rose” on the SCA notes page on my phone, which is a note that is full of blips of song ideas or quotes I hear that have a nice turn of phrase that I could probably spin into something bigger if given the right motivation.

And for those who may not know, this is azure, argent, and rose on a banner. It’s the trans flag!

The Covenant of the Goddess Creates Vision and Mission Statements for the Organization

One of the first actions of the 2018 Grand Council of the Covenant of the Goddess (COG) was creation of and consensus on a vision statement and mission statement. During Leadership Institute held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 COG members discussed in detail how to reflect the desires and direction of the future of COG.

During the business portion of the four-day event COG members continued to collaborate ensuring these statements reflected their aspirations.

Vision Statement

The Covenant of the Goddess envisions a world where all living beings are honored and cherished as manifestations of the Sacred. 

Mission Statement

We, the Covenant of the Goddess, through advocacy, education, interfaith action, and resource sharing, empower Witches and Wiccans to protect, strengthen, and enrich our religion, society, and the Earth.
